Tech’s defensive coordinator steps down

The fallout from Texas Tech’s defensive debacle against Oklahoma State came swiftly as the Red Raiders announced Sunday that defensive coordinator Lyle Setencich has resigned for personal reasons.

Red Raiders assistant head coach Ruffin McNeill, who has been with Tech since 2000, replaces Setencich on an interim basis and will coach the linebackers. Setencich will be assigned other duties by athletic director Gerald Myers.

‘We appreciate Lyle and the work he did for our program,’ Tech coach Mike Leach said. ‘We wish him and his family the best.’ Read more
